Lamp Beams

This is a little tutorial about lamp beams.

Let's create a cone.

 

Apply the textures. I made a texture ('EodBeamA2' and EodBeamA2_LM') for light beams.

 

Save the EOD file and use the 'FS Preview' feature to have a look at it.

Now we have one problem: The lamp beam looks ugly during the day. One possibility is to make the texture EodBeamA2.bmp totally transparent. FS will use 'EodBeamA2_LM.bmp' at night, so there will still be a lamp beam during night. Another possibility would be to show the object only at night. Unfortunately, EOD doesn't offer such a feature yet.
