Limitations and known errors with EOD

Please inform me if you find any further points that should be on this page.

Limitations:

  • Maximum of 160 sub-objects per individual EOD file.
  • The Maximum may be less than 160, depending on the complexity of the object. API files over 64KB might cause trouble.
  • The dimensional values (parameters) of an object are limited to +/- 32767. But such an extreme value could cause a crash with EOD, SCASM or FlightSimulator.
  • Negative parameters can in rare circumstances produce some interesting results.
  • Airport 2.6 can accept file names of greater than 8 characters (Airport 2.1 was restricted to 8 characters) if the LoadBitmap option is activated. See -> Project settings
  • Eod accepts any texture size, but can't read the new DXT formats.
If you have the Graphic-DLLs from Martin Wright installed, EOD is able to read the DXT textures. Owners of a commercial EOD license are not allowed to use this feature.

Errors:

  • Please save your work before using the '3d Preview' feature. It could have errors...

Use the EOD light bulb and the EOD trouble shooter to solve your problems!

The user should find the above limitations and errors to be minimal when using EOD, and normally, the problems mentioned are not encountered. The author of EOD has chosen to mention the above in the spirit of truth and honesty. You will often find with well known and commonly used software that bugs exist.
